We began by removing a dividing wall to create a more open-plan layout, instantly improving flow and light. To complement the character of their Ashbourne home, we chose a classic Shaker-style kitchen design—known for its timeless appeal and clean lines.
To maximize space, we installed slim, sleek cabinetry and replaced bulky upper units with open shelving. This not only added visual openness but also made everyday items more accessible. At the center of the kitchen, we introduced a compact island with built-in seating and hidden storage—ideal for casual dining, extra prep space, and keeping clutter out of sight.
A palette of light colors and reflective surfaces was used to enhance brightness and create the illusion of a larger area. The result is a kitchen that feels airy, welcoming, and highly functional.
